Philosophy Competition Finalists
Finalists in international Oxford University competition
Congratulations to Isabel and Samar in Year 12, who have won through to the final of an annual competition run by the Oxford Uehiro Centre for Practical Ethics. They will compete against two other schools, Westminster School and The Royal Latin School, in Oxford later this month.
To win their place in the final, Isabel and Samar submitted a video in which they explored the question, 'Should the age of criminal responsibility be raised?'
They now look forward to their day in the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Oxford along with Miss Clark, our Head of Religion, Ethics and Philosophy, who helped them to prepare. After participating in a day of presentations and activities run by researchers and lecturers from the university, they will develop their ideas and challenge those of the other teams, and take part in a further debate to determine their final place. Good luck to them!
