2023 ISI Inspection

2014 Ofsted Inspection

The Laurels School was judged excellent in its ISI report conducted in January 2023. The report recognised that pupils are motivated and enthusiastic with an outstanding work ethic and that results are 'above national standards for maintained [private] schools.'

It also commended the high expectations set by teachers, pupils' excellent communication skills and the support given by teachers both inside and outside the classroom.

The 'excellent' grade was awarded for both key outcomes - the achievement of pupils, including their academic development, and the personal development of the pupils.

Inspectors said that Laurels' pupils:

  • show an excellent level of maturity in their relationships with each other and with adults in school
  • work extremely well with others in lessons and extra-curricular activities
  • are articulate, listen with respect and can present their ideas coherently and with enthusiasm
  • develop a strong sense of self-understanding
  • have an excellent level of responsibility for their own behaviour
  • demonstrate an excellent awareness of the importance of respect and kindness and the inclusion of all

Our focus on Character Development sets us apart from other schools and inspectors commended the pupils' strong personal characteristics based on the values of the school.
