Our Lunchtime Lectures are launched

Friday Lunchtime Lectures began this week with an inspiring talk from Tricia Miller, a seasoned business to business marketing executive with nearly 30 years of experience in the tech industry.

She gave the pupils a behind the scenes look at:

• The different types of marketing roles available, from consumer to business to business, creative to analytical and everything in between
• Various academic routes into the marketing field
• The soft skills required to rise to the top
• Steps they can take now to prepare for a career in marketing

Judging by the girls' thoughtful questions afterwards, Tricia encouraged them to consider the many opportunities available within the field of marketing.

This was the first in a series of talks, covering a wide range of topics, not just careers-based. Mrs Jewell, our Assistant Head who is co-ordinating this new initiative, explained: 'We want to inspire the girls, widen their knowledge and interests, and help them to improve their own oracy skills'. Pupils will also have the opportunity to give a short presentation on a topic of interest to them personally.
