National prize for Marta
Winner of the ISA Annual Shakespeare Monologue Competition
Congratulations to Marta in Year 7, who has won the annual ISA schools competition for a Shakespeare Monologue for children in Years 7 to 9.
Entrants had to write a piece based on a character from Shakespeare, and Marta, who has read several of the famous plays on her own, chose Viola from Twelfth Night, inspired by her wit.
For someone who loves Shakespeare so much, the prize is perfect: Marta will perform her monologue at Mary Arden's Farm in Stratford-Upon-Avon and take part in a workshop run by the Shakespeare's Birthplace Trust.
